Started bowling in 1954 at the lanes on the second floor of the Robert Street Rec. In 1958 became league secretary for the Sibley Commercial League and served in that capacity until 1972. In 1965 was elected to the Greater St. Paul Men's Bowling Association's Board of Directors. Also, in 1965, was appointed coach of St. Paul's Junior Traveling League and served at that position for six years. In 1972, became secretary of the Friday Nite Men's Handicap at Drkula's and held that office until 1977. Also, in 1972, began coaching Drkula's junior bowlers and continues to at the present time (1994). Was elected President of the St. Paul American Junior Bowling Congress (AJBC) Association in 1975 and held that office until 1983. Was elected President of the Greater St. Paul Men's Bowling Association for the 1977-78 season. Again, in 1981, became secretary of the Friday Nite Men's Handicap at Drkula's and continues to be that league's secretary at the present time (1994). In 1992, received a St. Paul award for 25 years of service as an AJBC/YABA coach. Served on most committees at one time or another including the Junior Bowling Committee. Is responsible for initiating the St. Paul AJBC/YABA "Local Achievement Award" awarded to the junior bowler who works the hardest at improving his/her game and yet did not earn an AJBC/YABA award. Is responsible for making the St. Paul AJBC/YABA "City" Tournament's annual awards party a reality with attendance at between 150 and 300 parents and juniors annually. Served as delegate to the American Bowling Congress and Minnesota State meetings three times each. Bowling accomplishments include a single score of 257 and a high series of 645.
