Bud started bowling in 1954 at University Lanes. He was a pinsetter at University Lanes and at St. Peter Claver Lanes. In the early 1960's he served as Secretary of the Sioux League at Minnehaha Lanes. He bowled for the Venetian Inn in the Saxon Straightaway League for 20 years from 1963 to 1983. He served as league secretary for the last 5 years he participated in the league. Bud has bowled three 300's, one 298 and numerous 700's. His highest series is 796 and his highest average is 218. Has bowled in over 30 Greater St. Paul City Tournaments and over 30 Minnesota State Tournaments.
He served as a delegate to the ABC Convention for 10 years and bowled in 34 ABC tournaments with a composite average of 192. Has competed in 5 National Mixed Tournaments. Served as the secretary of the Hillcrest City League for 10 years and was the House Representative for Hillcrest Bowl before retiring to Las Vegas in 1998. He won the Showboat Individual Invitational League in 98-99. He is serving his 3rd year as Junior Bowling coach in Sam’s Town.
Bud was elected to the Greater St. Paul Bowling Association's Board of Directors in 1973 and served as President during the 1987-88 bowling season. He has chaired many committees including Nominating, Steering, Suspension, Finance, Industry Relations and Hall of Fame/Recognition Dinner. He served as President of the Hall of Fame committee and has been the Host and Emcee of the Recognition Dinner numerous times.
