Elected to the St. Paul Women's Association
Board of Directors in 1975 and has continued in that position to date. Served as a member
on a number of St. Paul WBA committees and chairman of 5 committees, including Tournament
Promotion (14 years), Awards and Recognition (6 years) and Publicity (5 years).
Established and co-edited St. Paul WBA Newsletter (3 years). Designed St. Paul WBA and
State Tournament pins since 1988; also, designed Bowlers Recognition Dinner and other
promotional flyers for many years. St. Paul chairman for staffing of Minnesota State Fair
Bowling Booth until exhibit was discontinued. Initiated Attendance Prize Committee to
promote attendance at Association meetings chairing committee for 8 years. Assisted with
Secretary workshops at Association meetings. Member of both the Bowlers Recognition Dinner
and SPAN Committees that worked in conjunction with the Greater St. Paul Bowling
Association. Also, volunteered in activities related to Jerry Tessman's ABC Presidential
inauguration. Has worked at least one day per week at the St. Paul Associations Bowling
Office for the past two years. Participated in local and state Jamborees and WIBC
Leadership Training Seminars. Served as a volunteer at Special Olympics Tournaments and US
National Amateur Bowling Championship Tournaments. Attended annual Minnesota Women's
Bowling Association Conventions for many years - elected delegate 9 times, appointed to
Credentials Committee for 2 years and was appointed chairman the second year. Presented
part of MWBA Workshop program 3 times. Elected delegate to WIBC Convention 17 times,
appointed to serve as Teller at WIBC Convention since 1994. Member of local and national
"600" Club since 1965 and National Women Bowling Writers since 1993. Won First
Prize award in 1999 NWBW writing contest in a non-professional Feature Story category.
Started bowling in adult leagues in 1944 - a mixed league at Harkins. Has bowled in two to four leagues per week since that time. Member of the Saxon team in the St. Paul Bowling Proprietors Traveling Classic League for 32 years - team captain since 1976 and has been on the championship team 16 out of the last 19 years. Member of the Saxon Keglers League for 30 years. Served as president or secretary in various leagues including the BPA Traveling Classic League and the Ladies City League. Participated in St. Paul City tournaments since 1960, at least 30 MWBA state tournaments and over 25 WIBC tournaments as well as various mixed and senior tournaments. Won 1st place All Events (with handicap) title in the 1971 MWBA State Tournament. Member of Division I Championship Team in the St. Paul City Tournament 2 Times. She has a high lifetime single game of 265, high series of 621 and a high average of 172. Currently bowls in four leagues per week with a high average of 169.
