One of the originators of St. Paul Bowling
Hall of Fame, serving as first President. Inaugurated St. Paul All City teams for men and
women. Originator, along with BPA member George Hammond and Ken Smith, of annual
Captain-Sponsor Dinner (now known as Bowler's Recognition Dinner). Has served on board of
directors of St. Paul Men's and Minnesota State bowling associations for more than 25
years, and is a past President of Men's State. League secretary for more than 25 years. Is
a past President and former secretary of BWAA (Bowling Writers Association of America).
Past president of Minnesota Bowling Council, also served three years as secretary.
Captured the BWA "Tell 'Em So Award" for distinguished service to the Bowling
game. Has written "Maple Music" column in the St. Paul daily papers for 28
years. Has been an ABC delegate 10 times and competed in 17 ABC tournaments. Executive
secretary of the St. Paul BPA. His lifetime average (30 years) is 168, high game 256 and
high series is 646.
