Started
bowling in 1939 and bowled for 43 years.
She won a singles title in 1945 at the Park Rec receiving a check
for $20 and used a borrowed ball from Midway Gardens as she did not have
her own ball at the time. She
also won the Eagles all events and singles titles around 1968. She was also the 2nd highest in the State singles one year.
She bowled in the All Star league about the same time as Janet Plum
(same team), Margo Dalzen, Ann Grandl, Marge Schmaltz and Rosie Brown.
She was a member of two teams that won City Titles; Ryan Plumbing
in 1956-57 with a 2834 at Payne Avenue Recreation and Eberhard's in
1972-73 with a 2792 at Minnehaha Lanes.
Her High Game is 268, High Series of 662 and High Average around
175-178 with about 20 series over 600.
She was always known to be a serious bowler during competition but
never forgot to have fun before and after.
