Pat Ward

Meritorious Service

Pat started bowling in the late 1950's at the old Flaherty's.  Pat was a member of the City Championship Team in 1981.  Her high series is a 666 and her high game is 289 bowled in the State Tournament.  Her high average was 185 and she has maintained averages in the 170's for most of her bowling career.  She is a member of the Minnesota State Softball Hall of Fame and was inducted in 1987.  Pat has served as League President, Secretary and Sergeant-at-Arms and in many committees in several leagues over the last 40 years. She has bowled in 23 National tournaments.  She was a member of the formation committee for the Metro 600 tournament.  She has held the following positions: Metro 600 Tournament Director in 1979; St. Paul 600 Club Director for 5 years; Secretary-Treasurer St. Paul 600 Club for 8 years; Site Coordinator for the 1991 International Special Olympic Festival in Minneapolis; Minnesota Bowling Council member and Minnesota Joint Jamboree Committee member.  She also attended the 1996 Summer Sizzler (National Workshop) in Milwaukee. State service consists of the following: Minnesota WBA Secretary and Ex-officio member of all State Committees except Nominating for 11 years and Minnesota WBA Director #6 for 1 year.  Board Service consists of the following: Elected Director in 1980; attended 4 Leadership Training Seminars; Elected delegate to 16 National Conventions and State Conventions; certified lane inspector and elected Vice President in 1996.  She is presently on the following committees: Lane Dressing and Certification; All-City Team selection; Bowlers' Recognition Dinner; Legislative and Most Improved Average Tournament.  She has been on the past committees: Auditing, Awards Dinner, Budget and Finance, Policy Procedure Manual, Tournament Promotion, Nominating, Checkroom and Hospitality For State Tournaments and Conventions, New 600 Memberships and Chairman of League Captain's Pay Envelopes.
