Richard
started bowling at age 10 in 1960 and at age 17 started bowling men's
leagues at Lucky Lanes. He has been on 12 championship teams, has
held high average 7 times, been a league president for 20 seasons. Rich
was selected team captain for the Coors and Budweiser traveling leagues
which, in their time, were considered the premier league's in the
Metro area. Richard has a lifetime ABC/USBC average of 201 for 26
tournaments. He won the MN Masters in 1989 at Season Lanes. He
was a MN State Team Champ in 1981. Richard was a member of the St
Paul Bowling Association Doubles Champs in 1989 and won it again in 2003
with a Tournament record score of 1532. Richard was the CBA champion
at Stadium bowl in 1985.. Member of the winning Team at the Bowler in
Fargo in 1996 and the doubles team in 2005 with a 1470. Rich
has also been on the winning team of the St Paul Team Challenge one time
and second place 4 times.
He has 18 - 300 games (1 during CBA competition and 1 at the Hoinke Classic in Cincinnati), 3 - 299 games, 3 - 298 games, 5 - 800 Series with a high of 858 and a high average of 226 in the 1995-96 Season. He has over 200 - 700's and 5 - 800's in his career. He was the anchor man on the On Track II team that established the all time state team 3-game series record (at that time) of 3716 at Hero's Bowling lanes on January 11, 1997 with scores of 279-300-279 (the highest 3 game set that year in the Greater St Paul Bowling Association). Member of the 2003 City Actual and Handicap Doubles Team with a 1532. CBA board member for 6 years. League president for 15 seasons. Team Captain and Charter member of both the Coors' and Bud Traveling leagues. Member of 12 League Championship Teams. League Average leader on 7 occasions.
