A seasoned league bowler for over 33 years, has for the past 25 years, progressively promoted the sport of bowling by giving his time to teaching children and young adults. Gary was elected director to the Greater St. Paul Bowling Assoc. in 1997. His credits are seven sanctioned 300's, two 299's with his best three game total being 805, and has rolled more than 250 - 700 plus series.
In addition, he has won 4 St. Paul City Team titles in 1983, 1986, 1987 and 1993. In 1995, Gary won the team title at the St. Croix Valley Bowling Association Tournament.  Twice a winner of the Minnehaha Open All-Events 1976 and 1979 and Cold Spring Kegle Doubles in 1993; captured the St. Croix Valley Bowling Association Doubles title in 1994 as well as the Singles title in 1995.  He was champion of the Midwest Senior Classic in December of 1998, as well as, the senior singles division winner in the 60th Annual Alexandria Garden Center Tournament in 1999.
Gary received high average (209) recognition from the CBA in 1980, along with Greater St. Paul All City Team Honorable Mention awards in 1981 and 1982. In conclusion, Gary finished the 1996-97 season with his highest average of 217 in the 3M Research Classic League.
