Roger started bowling in 1957.  St Paul accomplishments include Actual Team and Handicap Team Champion in 1982, Actual All Events Champion in 2000.  He was a member of the St Paul All City Team in 1980. Roger rolled a 279 triplicate in 2008 at West Side Lanes.   State accomplishments include teaming with Dick Halversen in 1974 to win Actual Doubles.  In 1976 and 1981 Roger and Jim Lindquist won Actual Doubles titles.  He was competing with the Grain Belt Beer team in 1976 when they won the Actual Team Event.  In 1979 he was part of another winning team as the Pabst Blue Ribbon won the Actual Team Event.  Additional accomplishments include winning the Minneapolis City Actual Team Event in 1979 and 1983.  He also won two Central Bowlers Alliance tournaments in 1981 and was voted to the All CBA First Team once and Second Team twice.   While competing in the CBA at Drkula’s 32 Bowl, he established St Paul history by becoming the first St Paul bowler to roll 3 perfect games in one day.   National accomplishments include success at the Senior High Roller in Las Vegas (1st –3 times, 2nd – 1 time, 3rd – 1 time and 9th – 1 time).   He also won the ABT National Las Vegas and Team Hoinke Classic in Ohio.  Placed second in Bowlers Journal in Doubles and was named Senior High Roller Player of the Year.  He bowled 24-300’s, 8-800’s with a High Series of 845 and High Average of 231
