Pioneers of Yesterday
Doreen began bowling in 1969. She has been bowling in St. Paul for 42 years. She has participated in 20+ City Tournaments, 20+ State Tournaments, 20+ St. Paul ‘600’ Tournaments, 12 St. Paul ‘700’ Tournaments, 25 National Tournaments along with Sr Mixed Tournaments, LCBA Tournaments and ABT Tournaments. Doreen was the 1993 Virginia Pechacek ‘600’ Club Award Winner. She has been on the All-City Team 4 Times. Her high game is 290 and she has bowled 4 700 series with a high of 730 in 1995. Her 707 at Maplewood Lanes in 1984 was the first Women’s League 700 bowled in that house. She was also on the winning team in the 1st Mixed Team Challenge Tournament in 1997. In 1998 she was the Metro ‘600’ Champion with an actual 640 with a handicap score of 748 (she was high in both categories). In 1985 she was elected to the LCBA All Star 2nd Team. Doreen was also a Bowling Secretary for 20+ years and was elected Secretary of the Year in 1998-99.
