Started bowling career in 1959 at the age of fourteen in the junior leagues of Southern California. At the age of fifteen worked as an automatic pinsetter mechanic and at the counter for a local bowling center. After moving to St. Paul joined three leagues and worked as a part-time pin chaser at Lucky Lanes. Served as league Secretary for eight years and league President for an additional seven years as a member of the Lucky Lanes Friday Night Men's League. A member of many league championship teams and won a few tournament titles. Bowled a "300" game in the Harkins Straightaway League at Sundance Lanes in 1990. Elected to the Greater St. Paul Bowling Association Board of Directors in 1975. Since 1975 has chaired twelve committees and co-chaired six committees. Elected President of the Greater St. Paul Bowling Association and served at that position during the 1989-90 season. Worked as Tournament Director and/or Lead Director for the Greater St. Paul Bowling Association championships for seventeen years. In 1991, wrote the first version of the "Director's Handbook" which serves as an important tool for the initial training of new "Board" members and as a source of reference for the veterans. In 1992, was elected a Director to the Minnesota "State" Men's Bowling Association and currently serves as editor of the "State" Association Newsletter. In 1993 was selected as the Greater St. Paul Bowling Association's "Director of the Year". Chaired the Ad Hoc committee that researched, designed and implemented the computerization of the Greater St. Paul Bowling Association. The day-to-day operation of the association totally relies on the two computer systems for processing league sanctions, award allocation, general record keeping and financial planning. Was the driving force behind the development and implementation of the St. Paul Association News (SPAN) and is currently its' Senior Editor.
